The line debuted at the 2012 IPCPR trade show, and its name honors Atabey, the supreme goddess of the Taíno people. Selected Tobacco says each cigar rests another five years after it is rolled, aged with cedar from five countries before release.

Selected Tobacco's October 2024 release gives the blend as an Ecuadorian shade-grown wrapper over a Dominican binder, with Peruvian and Nicaraguan filler. The boxes are white lacquered, humidor-style chests with metal hinges and a lock plate, set inside a black outer carton with a gold seal.

The Brujos is the robusto, 5 x 52. Cigar Coop scored it 95 in June 2013 and rated it medium in strength and body, with natural sweetness, pepper, nut and toast.

Size: 5 x 52 Robusto

Wrapper: Ecuadorian, shade-grown

Binder: Dominican

Filler: Peruvian and Nicaraguan

Strength: Medium

Origin: Tabacos de Costa Rica, Santiago de Puriscal, Costa Rica

Box: 25 cigars

Offered by the single, the five-pack or the box of 25.

Brujos Robusto FAQ

What does Atabey taste like? Selected Tobacco has not published tasting notes we could confirm.
