It is batch-distilled with exactly 47 botanicals and soft regional water from deep sandstone springs, left unfiltered, and rested about 100 days in earthenware vessels before bottling.

Among the botanicals the producer names are lingonberries, spruce, sloe berries, elderflower, bramble leaves, juniper, and lemon and grapefruit peel. The recipe traces to the legend of RAF Wing Commander Montgomery Collins and his "Wild Monkey" guesthouse.

Pure juniper, crisp citrus, sweet florals and peppery spice form the nose. The palate is intensely herbal, with subtle bitter fruit, complex yet balanced, before a racy finish that takes a sweet, fruity turn.

At Sun of a Gun Cigars & Spirits in Yuma, Arizona, we pour it by the glass as a single or a double, with bottles to go (750 mL).
