The German house traces its roots to the Gebr. André tobacco factory, founded in Osnabrück in 1817, and has made its long-filler cigars at its own Dominican factory since 2011. United's Oliver Nivaud says Arnold André created Terra Nova for the U.S. market; United launched it here at the TPE trade show in January 2022, in two blends, Araperique and Dark Fired Kentucky.

The Dark Fired Kentucky blend adds Kentucky fire-cured tobacco to Dominican, Nicaraguan and Brazilian filler, under a Brazilian Bahia Sumatra binder and an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper. Cigar Coop found the fire-cured leaf plays a supporting role rather than dominating the blend. The cigars come in cellophane, 20 to an orange-red wooden box with a lift lid.

The Toro is 5 7/8 x 50. Cigar Coop scored it 88 in November 2022 with a “Buy One” verdict and rated it medium in strength and body, with cream, pepper and light smoke.

Size: 5 7/8 x 50 Toro

Wrapper: Ecuadorian Connecticut

Binder: Brazilian Bahia Sumatra

Filler: Dominican, Nicaraguan, Brazilian and Dark Fired Kentucky

Strength: Medium

Origin: Arnold André Dominicana, Dominican Republic

Box: 20 cigars

Offered by the single, the five-pack or the box of 20.

Terra Nova Dark Fired Kentucky Toro FAQ

What does Terra Nova Dark Fired Kentucky taste like? Arnold André has not published tasting notes we could confirm.
