Every cigar deserves the right tools. From the precise cut to the perfect light, the accessories you use directly affect how a cigar smokes. At Sun of a Gun Cigars, we carry the essential accessories every cigar smoker needs — whether you're just starting out or building out a serious home humidor setup.

Cigar Cutters

A clean cut is the foundation of every good smoke. The wrong cut — or a dull blade — compresses the wrapper leaf and ruins the draw before you even light up.

Guillotine (Straight) Cutters

The most common cutter type. A single or double-bladed guillotine cutter removes the cap cleanly with one motion. Double-blade guillotines cut from both sides simultaneously, reducing wrapper splitting. Best for most cigar sizes.

V-Cutters (Wedge Cutters)

Creates a V-shaped notch in the cap rather than removing it entirely. Concentrates smoke draw through a narrower opening. Many cigar smokers prefer V-cuts for larger ring gauge cigars (52+). Best for large ring gauges and smokers who want a tighter draw.

Punch Cutters

A circular punch that removes a small plug from the cap. Creates the tightest draw of any cut style. Best for parejos (straight-sided cigars) and travel use.

Scissors

Precision scissor-style cutters. High-end versions are exceptionally sharp. Best for experienced smokers who want precise control.

Cigar Lighters

Cigar lighters are not optional accessories — using the wrong flame fundamentally changes how a cigar tastes. Butane torch lighters are the gold standard. Soft-flame lighters expose the wrapper to uneven heat and petroleum flavors. Butane torch lighters produce a clean, hot, windproof flame that toasts and lights cigars perfectly.

Single jet — best for indoor use and delicate lighting of thinner ring gauge cigars. Double jet — versatile for indoor and mild outdoor use. Triple jet — hot, windproof, fast lighting for large ring gauge cigars and outdoor use.

Cigar Humidors

Proper storage is as important as the cigar itself. Without the right humidity (65–70% RH), even a world-class cigar dries out, cracks, and smokes harshly.

Desktop humidors are the classic choice for home storage — typically hold 25–100 cigars, lined with Spanish cedar, and come in an enormous range of styles from budget to luxury. Travel humidors are portable cases for 5–10 cigars, made of hard shell material with a sealed gasket and a small Boveda pack. Cabinet humidors are large freestanding furniture pieces for serious collectors storing 500+ cigars.

Tupperdors and coolerdors are budget-conscious options using airtight Tupperware containers or small coolers fitted with Boveda packs. Functionally equivalent to traditional humidors at a fraction of the cost.

Cigar Ashtrays

A dedicated cigar ashtray makes the smoking experience noticeably better. Cigar ashtrays are designed differently from cigarette ashtrays — they're larger, with wider rests and deeper ash chambers to accommodate the longer, larger cigar format.
