Padron 1964 Anniversary Series Principe — Sun of a Gun Cigars & Spirits, Yuma Arizona

Padrón Cigars

Padron cigars have been a family business since José Orlando Padrón founded the company in Miami in 1964, and the family keeps every step in its own hands, from seed to smoke. The Nicaraguan tobacco comes from Padrón's own farms, is cured, fermented and aged in bales, and is rolled at the family's factory in Estelí before the boxes ship to tobacconists from Padrón's office in Miami's Little Havana. The box-pressed 1964 Anniversary Series arrived in 1994 for the company's 30th year, and the 1926 Serie followed in 2002, named for José Orlando Padrón's birth year and released for his 75th birthday.

About Padrón Cigars

We carry the house across six lines at Sun of a Gun Cigars in Yuma, Arizona, and most sizes are sold three ways online: a single to try it, a 5-pack, or a full box at the lowest price per cigar. Orders ship humidor-fresh from our walk-in humidor. These are the Padron cigars for sale online from that humidor, with live prices and stock on each product page.

The six Padrón lines

  • Padrón Series — the everyday Padrón. Round, medium to full-bodied, boxes of 26.
  • 1964 Anniversary Series — box-pressed, tobacco aged four years, medium to full.
  • 1926 Serie — box-pressed, aged five years, full-bodied.
  • Family Reserve — limited milestone releases, tobacco aged ten years.
  • Padrón Black — birthday cigars for José O. Padrón: the No. 97 torpedo and the No. 99 gordo, boxes of 10.
  • Dámaso — the mild one, and the only Padrón with an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper.

Five Cigars of the Year

Cigar Aficionado has named a Padrón its Cigar of the Year five times: the 1926 Serie 40th Anniversary (2004), the 1926 Serie No. 9 (2007), the Family Reserve No. 45 Maduro (2009), the 1964 Anniversary Series Torpedo in Natural (2021, 97 points) and the 60th Anniversary Perfecto in Natural (2025, 97 points). The Padrón Cigar of the Year sampler holds the four earlier winners.

Common questions

Where are Padrón cigars made? In Estelí, Nicaragua, at the Padrón family's own factory, from Nicaraguan tobacco grown on Padrón's farms. The boxes ship to tobacconists from Padrón's office in Miami's Little Havana.

Who makes Padrón cigars? The Padrón family. José Orlando Padrón founded the company in Miami in 1964, and the family keeps every step in its own hands, from seed to smoke.

Where can I buy Padrón cigars? From a tobacconist that carries them. Padrón's own retailer search lists Sun of a Gun Cigars at 1651 S Arizona Ave in Yuma, Arizona. We stock six Padrón lines in our walk-in humidor there and sell them online by the single, 5-pack or box; what is on the shelf today is on Padrón In Stock Now.

Is there a Padrón retailer in Yuma? Yes. Sun of a Gun Cigars & Spirits, 1651 S Arizona Ave, is on Padrón's retailer search and is an official J.C. Newman Diamond Crown Cigar Lounge. Choose from the walk-in humidor in person, or call 928-276-3500 to check a size before you come.

How much do Padrón cigars cost? At our listed prices in October 2026, a Padrón Series single ran $9.99 to $13.99, the 1964 Anniversary $15.99 to $26.99, the 1926 Serie $17.99 to $41.99, Family Reserve $25.99 to $39.99 and Padrón Black $45.99.

Which Padrón is the best? It depends on what you want: the 1964 Anniversary Exclusivo is the classic place to start, the 1926 Serie No. 9 the full-bodied choice, and Family Reserve the special-occasion Padrón. Compare the two box-pressed lines in Padrón 1964 vs 1926.

What is the difference between Natural and Maduro? The blend underneath is the same. Natural is sun-grown and drier, leaning coffee, cedar and pepper. Maduro is darker and sweeter, with cocoa and espresso.

Which Padrón should a first-time smoker buy? Dámaso for mild, the Padrón Series 2000 or 4000 for an everyday medium-to-full smoke, the 1964 Exclusivo when you want the classic.

Why are Padrón cigars numbered? Each 1964, 1926, Family Reserve and Padrón Black cigar carries an individually numbered band to guard against counterfeits.

Can I buy one cigar instead of a box? Yes. Nearly every Padrón on this page comes as a single, a 5-pack or a full box; the Cigar of the Year sampler is sold as a set.

Where do they ship from? Our walk-in humidor in Yuma, Arizona, kept at smoking humidity until the day your order leaves. We ship nationwide, including California and Puerto Rico.

How much is a box of Padrón cigars? At our listed prices in October 2026, boxes ran from $205 for a Padrón Series box of 26 to $460 at the top of the 1964 Anniversary range, and box counts run from 8 to 26 cigars. Every box price is in our Padrón price guide.

Is every Padrón on this page in stock? Not always. Family Reserve and Padrón Black arrive in limited allocations, so a size can sell out between shipments; what is on the shelf today is on Padrón In Stock Now.
