Opus X Lost City: The Cigar Grown for a Film

The story behind Opus X Lost City, the sizes we stock, and how it differs from standard Opus X.

Short answer: Opus X Lost City is a Dominican puro grown out of season at Chateau de la Fuente for the filming of Andy Garcia's The Lost City, then aged and released as its own limited line. See the sizes in stock on our Lost City page.

The story

Scenes for the film were shot at the Fuente family estate in the Dominican Republic. Tobacco was planted in summer, outside the normal growing season, so the fields would look right on camera. That crop was harvested, aged and eventually rolled into a cigar that was never meant to exist.

How it differs from standard Opus X

Same family, same estate, different crop. Lost City is full-bodied and, to most palates, a touch rounder and sweeter than the core Opus X line. Production is finite because the crop was finite.
