A Night Out in Yuma: Where to Go After Dark

For a night out in Yuma, Sun of a Gun Cigars & Spirits at 1651 S Arizona Ave is open until 11 PM Sunday through Thursday and until 1 AM on Friday and Saturday. It is a craft cocktail bar, a whiskey bar and a cigar lounge in one room: handcrafted cocktails, a 300-bottle spirits menu, wine, charcuterie and a walk-in humidor. No membership, no dress code.

Start with a cocktail

Sun of a Gun is Yuma's premier craft cocktail bar, and every drink is made with house-made organic syrups and cordials. The Velvet Voice, our espresso martini, is poured for those who never call it a night. Cask & Ember is the Old Fashioned, built on Buffalo Trace bourbon. Beyond them the craft cocktail menu runs from a Negroni and a Sazerac to sours and tropical rum and tequila drinks. Mocktails are made with the same care.

Settle in with a whiskey

The spirits menu lists 300 bottles, more than 170 of them whiskey, alongside tequila and mezcal, rum, cognac and gin. Order a single, a double, or a whiskey flight served in Glencairn glasses. Wine is poured by the glass and by the bottle from the wine and port menu.

Share a charcuterie board

Charcuterie boards of fine cheeses, cured meats and accompaniments come in small and large. They are made for sharing, and they are served with whiskey flights too.

Add a cigar, if you like

The bar sits inside an official J.C. Newman Diamond Crown Cigar Lounge, the only one in Yuma, and Sun of a Gun is the sole authentic cigar tobacconist in the city. Choose a cigar from the walk-in humidor and smoke it in the lounge; the pairing menu matches cigars to cocktails and whiskeys. Friday and Saturday, until 1 AM

On Friday and Saturday the doors stay open until 1:00 AM, so the evening can begin elsewhere in Yuma, downtown or otherwise, and end here with a last pour. Sunday through Thursday we close at 11:00 PM.

Event nights

Since 2021 the lounge calendar has carried brand nights with the cigar houses we carry, holiday socials and New Year's Eve in the lounge. Event nights have included live music, raffles and charcuterie. New dates are announced on Instagram and Facebook first and listed on the events page.
