Aperol
Aperol is an Italian aperitivo with a bitter-orange character, created in 1919 by brothers Luigi and Silvio Barbieri. The brothers had inherited their father Giuseppe's liqueur company in 1912, and Aperol is still crafted in Italy.
Its recipe is a secret: an infusion of herbs and roots that has remained unchanged since 1919.
The flavor is bittersweet and led by orange, with notes of rhubarb, herbs, roots and spice layered beneath.
At Sun of a Gun Cigars & Spirits in Yuma, Arizona, we pour it by the glass as a single or a double, with bottles to go (1 L). Our shelf changes as bottles are poured and new ones arrive, so call 928-276-3500 to confirm availability, and ask our team for a cigar from the walk-in humidor to pair with it.
