Becherovka is a Czech herbal liqueur in the bitter style, created in 1807 in the spa town of Karlovy Vary. More than two centuries later, it is still produced there.

Josef Vitus Becher refined the recipe with guidance from Dr. Christian Frobrig. It is made from herbs and spices, Karlovy Vary water, spirit and sugar.

The flavor is bittersweet and distinctly herbal, with cinnamon and aniseed rounded by a touch of honey.
