Blanton's Single Barrel Bourbon
Blanton's Single Barrel Bourbon was introduced in 1984, and its makers present it as the original single barrel bourbon. Its barrels come from the center-cut sections of Warehouse H, a metal-clad warehouse at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, where the whiskey is distilled, aged and hand bottled one barrel at a time. It is bottled at 93 proof (46.5% ABV).
Eight horse-and-jockey stoppers, each marked with one letter of B-L-A-N-T-O-N-S, are applied at random. The nose offers creamy vanilla, caramel and butterscotch; the palate is sweet, with citrus, oak and the warm spice of clove, nutmeg and cinnamon.
At Sun of a Gun Cigars & Spirits in Yuma, Arizona, we pour it by the glass as a single or a double. Our shelf changes as bottles are poured and new ones arrive, so call 928-276-3500 to confirm availability, and ask our team for a cigar from the walk-in humidor to pair with it.
