Cynar
Cynar is an Italian amaro built around the artichoke. It was created in Italy in 1952 by the Venetian entrepreneur Angelo Dalle Molle and is bottled at 16.5% ABV (33 proof).
Artichoke leaf (Cynara scolymus) anchors a blend of 13 botanicals. On the nose, artichoke leaf and fresh herbs, with dark chocolate, walnut skin and caramel beneath. The palate is mellow, moving through dark chocolate, walnut and allspice toward bittersweet herbs. The finish is long, with herbal bitterness, licorice root, roasted nut and a trace of citrus peel.
At Sun of a Gun Cigars & Spirits in Yuma, Arizona, we pour it by the glass as a single or a double, with bottles to go (1 L). Our shelf changes as bottles are poured and new ones arrive, so call 928-276-3500 to confirm availability, and ask our team for a cigar from the walk-in humidor to pair with it.
