DAOU Pessimist Red Blend is a red blend from DAOU Vineyards, drawn from vineyards across the Paso Robles appellation in California. Winemaker Daniel Daou builds it on Petite Sirah, Zinfandel and Syrah, a nod to the region's roots in Zinfandel and Rhône-style blends. The 2022 release was aged 10 months in French oak, half of it new.

DAOU describes an intensely aromatic nose of blueberry, boysenberry and black plum, with deeper layers of lavender, cocoa and spice. The winery notes a bright palate of black cherry, cranberry and pomegranate, lush and silky textures, and lingering accents of blueberry and raspberry.
