Monkey Shoulder Scotch Whisky

Monkey Shoulder Scotch Whisky is a blended malt from William Grant & Sons: 100% malt whisky, made by blending Speyside single malts with no grain whisky at all. It matures in first-fill ex-bourbon casks, carries no age statement and is bottled at 43% ABV (86 proof).

Launched in 2003, it takes its name from the strain once suffered by maltmen who turned the barley by hand. Marmalade, cocoa and malt greet the nose with vanilla and the warm spices of nutmeg, clove and cinnamon. The palate is malty and creamy, with berry fruit, butterscotch, honey and dried apricot, and the finish is of medium length, with spicy oak and a hint of peppermint.
