Rittenhouse Bottled in Bond Rye Whiskey
Rittenhouse Bottled in Bond Rye Whiskey is a straight rye from Heaven Hill Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky, built on a mash bill of 51% rye, 35% corn and 14% malted barley. As a bottled-in-bond whiskey, it spends at least four years in a government-bonded warehouse and is bottled at 100 proof.
Named for Philadelphia's Rittenhouse Square, the brand was introduced in 1934 by Continental Distilling Corporation of Philadelphia, and Heaven Hill acquired it in 1993. Dried fruit, toffee and sweet pepper lead the nose; cocoa, citrus, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla fill the palate, and the finish lingers with maple-like spice.
At Sun of a Gun Cigars & Spirits in Yuma, Arizona, we pour it by the glass as a single or a double, with bottles to go (1 L). Our shelf changes as bottles are poured and new ones arrive, so call 928-276-3500 to confirm availability, and ask our team for a cigar from the walk-in humidor to pair with it.
