Undercrown began when Drew Estate asked its rollers to smoke less Liga Privada so more could be exported. They answered by blending their own cigar from many of the same rare tobaccos, and Drew Estate released it in 2011. Undercrown Maduro pairs a Mexican San Andrés wrapper with a stalk-cut and stalk-cured Connecticut River Valley Habano binder and Brazilian Mata Fina and Nicaraguan filler. Drew Estate rates its body medium to full and describes it as bold, deep and textured, lush, earthy, rich and naturally sweet. The line's Churchill was No. 25 on Cigar Aficionado's Top 25 for 2017, and the Corona Doble scored 91 points in February 2025.
