Every Padrón is a Nicaraguan puro, grown on the family's own farms around Estelí and Jalapa, and aged before it is rolled. What separates the lines is how long that tobacco is aged, whether the cigar is box-pressed, and which wrapper you choose. This guide covers every Padrón line in our Yuma humidor.
The five Padrón lines
Padrón Series
The everyday Padrón, round rather than box-pressed, sold in boxes of 26. Sizes run by number: 2000 (5 x 50), 3000 (5½ x 52), 4000 (6½ x 54), 5000 (5½ x 56) and 7000 (6¼ x 60). Medium-bodied, with cedar, coffee, earth and black pepper.
Padrón 1964 Anniversary Series
Released for the company's 30th anniversary. Box-pressed by hand, tobacco aged four years, medium to full, with cocoa, coffee and toasted nuts. The Exclusivo at 5½ x 50 is the natural place to start.
Padrón 1926 Serie
Built for José O. Padrón's 75th birthday. Box-pressed, tobacco aged five years, full-bodied, with dark chocolate, espresso and leather. The No. 9 is the robusto, the No. 35 the short smoke.
Padrón Family Reserve
The top of the house: limited releases marking family milestones, made from reserve tobacco aged ten years and packed ten to a box. Full-bodied, with cocoa, espresso, dried fruit and oak.
Padrón Dámaso
The mild one, and the only Padrón wearing an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper. Cream, cedar and light pepper, which makes it a natural morning cigar.
Natural or Maduro?
Every Padrón except Dámaso comes in two wrappers over the same blend. Natural is sun-grown and drier, leaning coffee, cedar and pepper. Maduro is darker and sweeter, with cocoa and espresso. Neither is stronger than the other; the difference is flavor.
Which Padrón should you buy?
- New to cigars: Dámaso No. 15.
- Everyday smoke: Padrón Series 2000 for something shorter, 4000 for a toro.
- The classic: 1964 Anniversary Exclusivo.
- Full-bodied: 1926 Serie No. 9.
- Special occasion: anything in Family Reserve.
How to read the sizes
Sizes are given as length in inches by ring gauge, the diameter in 64ths of an inch. A 5½ x 50 is five and a half inches long and just under an inch thick. Wider ring gauges burn cooler and slower; shorter cigars concentrate flavor.
Are Padrón cigars counterfeited?
The 1964, 1926 and Family Reserve lines each carry an individually numbered band, which Padrón introduced to protect buyers. Buy from an authorized retailer and check the band.
Buying Padrón online
We sell most Padrón sizes three ways: a single to try a size, a 5-pack, or a full box, usually the lowest price per cigar. Current pricing for each size is on the product page, since allocation and cost change.

Frequently asked questions
Where are Padrón cigars made?
In Nicaragua, from Nicaraguan tobacco grown on Padrón-owned farms. The founder was Cuban-born, but the company has never made cigars in Cuba.
What is the difference between the 1964 and the 1926?
Aging and strength. The 1964 uses four-year-aged tobacco and sits medium to full; the 1926 uses five-year-aged tobacco and is full-bodied and darker.
Are Padrón cigars good for beginners?
Dámaso is mild and a fine first cigar. The rest of the house runs medium to full, so work up through the Padrón Series before the 1964.
Can I buy a single Padrón?
Yes. Browse the Padrón collection or read our Padrón buying guide.
