Short answer: Rare Pink is Arturo Fuente's Vintage 1960's series: six hand-rolled figurados that Carlos "Carlito" Fuente Jr. created as a reflection on the 1960s. Fuente ships it once a year in limited quantities, and $13 from every box sold goes toward breast cancer research. Our 2026 allocation is in the humidor in Yuma now.
Why it is so hard to find
Rare Pink is not a limited edition, but it behaves like one. Fuente ships the line to retailers at one time of year, in smaller quantities than most of its cigars, which makes it a tough find in cigar shops. Carlito himself has called it one of the company's most sought-after extensions. When a shop's allocation is gone, there is no reordering until the next annual shipment.
The story behind the pink
The project was spearheaded by Liana Fuente, Carlito's daughter, and the pink boxes mark the line's support for breast cancer awareness. Rare Pink debuted in late 2020 with four sizes; the Queen of Hearts and Sophisticated Hooker joined in October 2022.
The blend
- Wrapper: Ecuadorian, grown by the Oliva Tobacco Co.
- Binder and filler: Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos
- Made at: Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia., Dominican Republic
- Shape: every size is a hand-rolled figurado

Rare Pink vs. Hemingway
The Short Story, Signature and Work of Art share their names and shapes with the Arturo Fuente Hemingway line, but Rare Pink is a different blend under an Ecuadorian wrapper rather than the Hemingway's Cameroon. The Happy Ending, Queen of Hearts and Sophisticated Hooker carry names of their own.
