San Cristobal Quintessence

San Cristobal Quintessence debuted at the 2016 IPCPR trade show, and Ashton began shipping it nationwide in the second week of October 2016. Like all San Cristobal brands, Cigar Aficionado reported, it is rolled at the My Father Cigars S.A. factory in Nicaragua. The wrapper is a fifth-priming Ecuador Habano over a blend of Nicaraguan tobaccos.

About San Cristobal Quintessence

Ashton's Sathya Levin described Quintessence as medium- to full-bodied, placing it between the medium-bodied Revelation and the full-bodied original San Cristobal. Cigar Journal named the Robusto its Cigar of the Year for 2016, and the Churchill, a size added in 2021 that we don't carry, was No. 3 in Cigar Aficionado's Top 25 for 2021 at 95 points. Every size comes in boxes of 24.

What to pour with Quintessence

We found no drink pairing from Ashton for Quintessence, so this is our house suggestion from the bar: a caramel-forward bourbon or a rye. More in the cigar and whiskey pairing guide.
