Deadwood Dominicana

Drew Estate revealed Deadwood Dominicana in April 2025 as its eighth Freestyle Live mystery cigar, under the headline "The Deadwood Girl with a Dominican Heart," and it went on sale at that month's PCA show in New Orleans. Despite the name, it is made at La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate in Nicaragua. The Dominican part is the filler: Drew Estate calls it a Dominican-forward blend, and Cigar Coop reported that its key tobacco is Dominican Criollo '98 grown in La Canela by José Mendez & Co.

About Deadwood Dominicana

The wrapper is Connecticut Shade (Ecuadorian-grown Connecticut seed, per halfwheel) over a Mexican San Andrés binder. Drew Estate rates the body mellow to medium and describes the taste as sophisticated and refined: sweet figs, hay, salt, butter and earth. As with other Deadwood cigars, halfwheel noted a sweetened cap. In April 2026 halfwheel reported that Drew Estate plans to move production to Drew Dominicana, its new factory in the Dominican Republic, which Cigar Journal said is expected to open in early 2027.

Buenas Noches, announced in April 2026, is what Drew Estate calls a darker, richer, after-hours expression of Dominicana. halfwheel reported that the wrapper changes from an Ecuadorian-grown Connecticut-seed leaf to a U.S.-grown Connecticut broadleaf, finished as a maduro with a sweet cap; the San Andrés binder and Dominican-forward filler stay. Drew Estate lists it mellow to medium, with gentle sweetness, cocoa and earth. It began shipping in late April 2026, also from Nicaragua.
