José Orlando Padrón left Cuba in 1961 and started his cigar company in 1964. Every Padrón is a Nicaraguan puro, grown on the family's own farms around Estelí and Jalapa and aged before rolling. This guide covers the Padrón lines in our Yuma humidor.
Padrón 1964 Anniversary Series
Box-pressed, made from Nicaraguan tobacco aged four years, in a sun-grown Natural or a darker Maduro wrapper. Medium to full, with cocoa, coffee and cedar. The Exclusivo is the classic starting size. See 1964 Anniversary.
Padrón 1926 Serie
Built for José O. Padrón's 75th birthday. Box-pressed, tobacco aged five years, full-bodied, with dark chocolate, espresso and leather. The No. 9 is the robusto. See 1926 Serie.
Padrón Family Reserve
Limited releases marking family milestones, made from reserve tobacco aged ten years and packed ten to a box. Full-bodied, with cocoa, espresso, dried fruit and oak. See Family Reserve.
Padrón Series
The everyday Padrón, round rather than box-pressed, sold in boxes of 26. Sizes run by number: 2000 (5 x 50), 3000 (5½ x 52), 4000 (6½ x 54), 5000 (5½ x 56) and 7000 (6¼ x 60). Medium-bodied, with cedar, coffee, earth and black pepper. See Padrón Series.
Padrón Dámaso
The mild one, and the only Padrón wearing an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper. Cream, cedar and light pepper. See Dámaso.
Natural or Maduro?
The blend underneath is the same. Natural is sun-grown and drier, leaning coffee, cedar and pepper. Maduro is darker and sweeter, with cocoa and espresso. Neither is stronger; the difference is flavor.

How long is the tobacco aged?
Four years for the 1964 Anniversary, five for the 1926 Serie and ten for Family Reserve, per Padrón.
