The Andalusian Bull is La Flor Dominicana's 6½ x 64 salomones, a curved, tapered figurado that Cigar Aficionado named its No. 1 Cigar of 2016 at 96 points, the first time La Flor Dominicana took the top spot. Tabacalera La Flor makes it at the company's factory in Tamboril, Dominican Republic. Cigar Aficionado describes a Corojo-seed Ecuador Habano wrapper over a blend made mostly of Dominican Criollo '98, with a hybrid and a bit of Pelo d'Oro; La Flor calls the wrapper a dark natural Ecuadorian Corojo and the cigar full-bodied.

SingleAbout La Flor Dominicana Andalusian Bull
Litto Gomez and his son Tony worked on the blend together and, in Cigar Aficionado's words, spent a fair amount of time fine-tuning it. The name is a nod to Andalusia in Spain, where Gomez was born, and the emerald green band is close to the green of the Andalusian flag. The shape comes from an antique cigar mold Gomez found on a trip to Europe. halfwheel described the cigar at its 2016 launch as limited but ongoing production.
Ten years on it still scores: Cigar Aficionado rated it 93 in April 2023 and 94 in June 2026, and wrote in July 2026 that it was "still performing at an exceptionally high level a decade later."

The 10th Anniversary Maduro
La Flor Dominicana released a darker Andalusian Bull in October 2026, ten years after the original: the same 6½-inch figurado at 52/64, in Connecticut Broadleaf rather than the Ecuadorian leaf on the original, limited to 5,000 boxes of 10. Cigar Coop and Cigar Dojo report Dominican binder and filler from LFD's 2016 La Canela crop; Cigar Aficionado and the Premium Cigar Association specify the binder and a Pelo de Oro filler component from the 2016 harvest. Litto Gomez said it "had to be an Andalusian Bull, but one that looks darker and tastes sweeter," as Cigar Coop and Cigar Dojo reported. No rating has been published yet.
We are taking pre-orders. Each 10th Anniversary cigar must be ordered with 5 other La Flor Dominicana cigars; Andalusian Bull cigars and the Andalusian Bull Sampler don't count, and orders without them are refunded. The full terms are on the 10th Anniversary Maduro page, and the release story is in our 10th Anniversary Maduro guide.

What to pour with the Andalusian Bull
La Flor publishes no pairing, so these are our house suggestions. For the original, a full cigar under a Corojo wrapper, a caramel-forward bourbon or a rye. For the 10th Anniversary Maduro, a sherry-cask Scotch such as the Macallan 12 Year Sherry Oak, or an aged rum. More in the bourbon and cigar pairing guide.
