ACID Cigars: A Guide to Kuba Kuba, Blondie and Drew Estate's Infused Line

ACID Kuba Kuba, Blondie, ACID 20 and Kuba Deluxe explained: what Drew Estate's infused line tastes like, who it suits, and why it should be stored apart from other cigars.

ACID is Drew Estate's infused line, made in Nicaragua from tobacco cured with a closely guarded blend of herbs and botanicals. Drew Estate says ACID was "born in 1996 from two New Yorkers determined to challenge the status quo," and the cigars occupy their own category: intensely aromatic, distinctly flavored and immediately recognizable.

They're not for every cigar smoker, and regulars tend to either love them or leave them.

What Makes ACID Cigars Different?

The infusion. Drew Estate describes its process only as "proprietary curing and blending methods," and the recipe is not published. What you taste is herbal and floral rather than simply sweet: nothing like a traditional premium cigar.

The ACID Lines We Carry

ACID Kuba Kuba — the flagship. A 5 x 54 robusto under a dark, oily Sumatra wrapper, mild to medium: sweet, creamy and herbal.

ACID Blondie — a 4 x 38 petite corona under a golden Connecticut wrapper. Mild to medium and a quick 20-minute smoke.

ACID 20 — Drew Estate's tribute to twenty years of ACID: a maduro 5 x 50 box-pressed robusto or a 6 x 50 toro, plus a 6 x 50 Connecticut toro.

ACID Kuba Deluxe — Kuba Kuba stretched to a 6 x 50 toro. More time with the same profile.

Who Are ACID Cigars For?

ACID is a natural entry point for people new to premium cigars who want something approachable, and for cigar smokers who prefer sweet or aromatic profiles.

Note: ACID should be stored separately from non-infused cigars — the aromatics can transfer in a shared humidor.
