Rocky Patel launched his Vintage line in 2003, the first cigars to carry his own name after years of selling Indian Tabac. The Vintage 1990 wears a 12-year-old Honduran Broadleaf wrapper that Rocky Patel says has softened in strength, and he describes the cigar as medium-bodied, leaning more toward the milder side. Cigar Aficionado traced that wrapper to broadleaf grown in Honduras's Talanga Valley, and the cigars are made in Danlí, Honduras. Cigar Aficionado rated the Vintage 1990 Robusto 92 points in October 2004 and named it No. 22 on its Top 25 for 2004.

What to pour with the Vintage 1990
Match the pour to the body. A 90-proof wheated bourbon suits a medium cigar, which is where Rocky Patel puts the Vintage 1990, on the milder side of it. For more on proof and mash bill at the table, see our bourbon and cigar pairing guide.
