The cigars are made in the Dominican Republic by Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia. Fuente's Chateau Fuente page lists no blend for the series; in Cigar Aficionado's ratings the binder and filler are Dominican, the Natural wears U.S. Connecticut Shade, the Maduro U.S. Connecticut Broadleaf and the Sun Grown an Ecuadorian leaf. Fuente's 2021 catalog describes the Pyramid's Connecticut shade wrapper and aged Dominican filler, and the Queen B's Ecuadorian sungrown wrapper. The name runs from cigar to farm, not the other way: Fuente says its Chateau de la Fuente farm was named in the spirit of the Chateau Fuente cigar series. Cigar Aficionado places the farm in the mountains of Bonao and reports that it grows all of the wrapper for Fuente Fuente OpusX.

Chateau Fuente sizes

Every size is sold as a single, a 5-pack or a box, and the two King T cigars come in tubes. Cigar Aficionado rates the Connecticut-shade Naturals mild to mild-medium and the Sun Grown sizes medium to medium-full. We found no Chateau Fuente size on the magazine's Top 25 from 2004 through 2025; the OpusX Reserva d'Chateau, Cigar of the Year for 2023, is a Fuente Fuente OpusX, not part of this series.

Fuente publishes no pairing for the series, so these are our house suggestions:

• Natural sizes (mild to mild-medium): a smooth Irish whiskey, a light Speyside single malt or a glass of Champagne
• Sun Grown sizes and the King T Rosado (medium to medium-full): a 90-proof wheated bourbon, or a rye with the fuller sizes
• Maduro sizes: a sherry-cask Scotch such as the Macallan 12 Year Sherry Oak, or an aged rum

What is the difference between Chateau Fuente Natural, Maduro and Sun Grown? The wrapper. In Cigar Aficionado's ratings the Natural wears U.S. Connecticut Shade, the Maduro U.S. Connecticut Broadleaf and the Sun Grown an Ecuadorian leaf; the binder and filler are Dominican in each.
