Cohiba Red Dot

Cohiba Red Dot is the Dominican-made Cohiba sold in the United States, named for the red dot on its band. It is a different cigar from the Cuban Cohiba. The blend is a Cameroon wrapper over an Indonesian Jember binder and a Dominican Piloto Cubano filler; Cohiba says it uses three varieties of Cuban-seed tobacco, which General Cigar's Cigar World site places in the filler. Cohiba calls Red Dot "a modern classic" and describes a dimensional, slightly spicy smoke. Cigar World lists nutty, creamy and caramel notes and calls it full in flavor yet medium in strength.

About Cohiba Red Dot

Cigar Aficionado reports that General Cigar registered the Cohiba trademark in the United States in 1981, sold the brand nationally from 1994 and made the Red Dot widely available in 1997. The cigars are handcrafted in the Dominican Republic; halfwheel reported in 2013 that they are made at General Cigar Dominicana in Santiago. Since February 2026 the brand has been sold by Forged Cigar Co., which, like General Cigar, belongs to Scandinavian Tobacco Group.
