La Flor Dominicana Andalusian Bull

La Flor Dominicana Andalusian Bull is the cigar that won LFD its first Cigar of the Year: Cigar Aficionado's No. 1 Cigar of 2016, at 96 points. It is a 6½ x 64 salomones, a curved, tapered shape that the magazine notes is far from easy to roll, made by Tabacalera La Flor in the Dominican Republic. A decade on, Cigar Aficionado rated it 94 points in June 2026 and wrote that it was "still performing at an exceptionally high level a decade later."

The story

The shape comes from an antique cigar mold Litto Gomez found on a trip to Europe. The name and the emerald green band, close to the green of the Andalusian flag, nod to Andalusia in Spain, where Gomez was born, and Litto and his son Tony spent, in Cigar Aficionado's words, a fair amount of time fine-tuning the blend. Cigar Aficionado described the result as both bold and refined, like a bull and a matador.
