My Father Connecticut Toro Gordo brings the García family's Connecticut blend to a 6 inch by 60 format. The Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, given a special fermentation to build aroma, covers a Nicaraguan Corojo 99 binder and Habano and Criollo fillers. Made in Nicaragua, it is mild to medium in body and full in flavor, with sweet tobacco, walnut, white pepper, green tea and creamy butter.
The wide ring gauge makes for a cool, generous draw and a long, easy smoke, well suited to a lounge afternoon. From the Sun of a Gun bar it pairs with a lighter bourbon, an aged rum or a cappuccino. Offered by the single, the five-pack or the box of 20.
