My Father La Opulencia Toro Gordo revives a retired Cuban brand name that translates to richness and abundance. A Mexican San Andrés rosado oscuro wrapper sits over a double binder of Nicaraguan Criollo and Corojo, with Corojo, Criollo and Habano fillers from the García farms El Pedrero, Las Lometas and La Bonita. Box-pressed at 7 inches by 56, it is medium to three-quarter bodied with notes of earth, chocolate, black pepper, espresso and fresh-cut wood.
