What the lighter looks like
The front panel takes its image straight from the Andalusian Bull's band: a matador in silhouette, in grand pose, standing over Litto Gomez's LFD monogram, inside an oval of gold rings on deep green lacquer. Turn it over and a gold arabesque curls across the back panel above the words andalusian bull in the same script the cigar's band uses. Around the lacquer, the cap and sides are cut in S.T. Dupont's diamond-head guilloche, a field of tiny faceted pyramids under a gold finish, and the top of the cap is engraved S.T. Dupont Paris.
Open the cap and the Ligne 2 gives the clear ping collectors know it for. Roll the flint wheel and a double soft flame rises, the traditional way to toast the foot of a cigar.
Why the Andalusian Bull
The Andalusian Bull is La Flor Dominicana's 6½ x 64 salomones, a curved, tapering figurado. Cigar Aficionado named it the No. 1 Cigar of 2016 at 96 points, the first time La Flor Dominicana took the top spot. Litto Gomez named it for Andalusia, the region of Spain where he was born, and the cigar's emerald band, with its matador in grand pose, echoes the green of the Andalusian flag. That band is the artwork on this lighter.
