Atabey Benditos Churchill is the 7 1/4 x 58 churchill in the Atabey line.
Atabey is made by Selected Tobacco, the Costa Rican house led by Nelson Alfonso, the designer credited with the Cohiba Behike branding, and it is rolled at Tabacos de Costa Rica in Santiago de Puriscal. The line debuted at the 2012 IPCPR trade show, and its name honors Atabey, the supreme goddess of the Taíno people. Selected Tobacco says each cigar rests another five years after it is rolled, aged with cedar from five countries before release.
Selected Tobacco's October 2024 release gives the blend as an Ecuadorian shade-grown wrapper over a Dominican binder, with Peruvian and Nicaraguan filler. The boxes are white lacquered, humidor-style chests with metal hinges and a lock plate, set inside a black outer carton with a gold seal.
