AVO began in 1987, when jazz pianist Avo Uvezian worked with Hendrik "Henke" Kelner, later Davidoff's longtime master blender, on a cigar first sold in Puerto Rico as Bolero and renamed AVO in 1988. Davidoff has distributed the brand since 1995. Davidoff calls the No. 2 the Classic line's most iconic and best-selling size, and the tube protects it for travel.
