Blackened Cask Strength American Whiskey
Blackened Cask Strength American Whiskey takes the same blend of North American bourbons and ryes found in the original BLACKENED and bottles it at cask strength, without chill filtration. Each volume is its own limited batch, married and finished in brandy casks, and its strength varies from one volume to the next.
The finishing stage uses BLACK NOISE, a sonic process that vibrates the whiskey against the barrel's oak with low-frequency sound. Character shifts by volume, but published notes describe oats, vanilla, fig, toffee and maple on the nose, caramel, dark sugar, walnut and dried chili on the palate, and a finish of cinnamon spice and brown sugar.
At Sun of a Gun Cigars & Spirits in Yuma, Arizona, we pour it by the glass as a single or a double, with bottles to go (750 mL). Our shelf changes as bottles are poured and new ones arrive, so call 928-276-3500 to confirm availability, and ask our team for a cigar from the walk-in humidor to pair with it.
