BLACKENED is Drew Estate's collaboration with Metallica's James Hetfield and Rob Dietrich, master distiller of BLACKENED American Whiskey. M81 stands for Metallica and 1981. The blend is all maduro: Mexican San Andrés wrapper, Connecticut River Valley Broadleaf binder, Nicaraguan and Pennsylvania Broadleaf filler.
The Robusto at 5 x 50 is the balanced cut of the line: full-bodied espresso, dark chocolate and leather in a smoke that fits an evening.
