Byron Selección Privada No. 2 Torpedo is the 7 x 56 torpedo in the Byron Selección 1850 line.

Byron is made by Selected Tobacco, the house of Nelson Alfonso, the Cuban artist credited with the Cohiba Behike branding, and the whole brand is rolled at Tabacos de Costa Rica in Santiago de Puriscal. Byron was founded in Havana in 1850, as the packaging reads, and named for the English poet Lord Byron, an avid cigar smoker; Cigar Aficionado traces it to Alfonso's own ancestors, and Byron says the family recovered the name in 1998. Byron says its cigars rest for years after rolling, against the roughly 60 days it calls typical. Selección 1850, called Byron 1850 in the trade, is the fourth Byron line. Selected Tobacco unveiled it at the 2022 PCA trade show in Las Vegas, and Nelson Alfonso called it a “bolder representation of the Byron blend.”

halfwheel, Cigar Aficionado and Cigar Coop give the blend as an Ecuadorian wrapper and a Peruvian binder over Dominican and Nicaraguan filler, and Byron's own page agrees, naming Nicaraguan ligero with Dominican seco and volado. halfwheel reports the cigars rest in cedar and French oak aging rooms. The box is a dark, glossy walnut-look lacquer with embossed hinges and a push-button clasp, its lid marked “SELECCIÓN 1850.”

The Selección Privada No. 2 is a 7 x 56 torpedo, as Cigar Coop described it at the 2022 launch; Byron's factory name for it is Pirámides Gigantes. Byron rates it medium.
