Caymus Special Selection Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 is a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from Caymus Vineyards in Rutherford. Chuck Wagner founded Caymus in 1972 with his parents, Lorna and Charlie Wagner Sr. In 1975 father and son set aside a few barrels that tasted better than the rest and bottled them under a new label, Special Selection. The winery still makes it each year from the best barrels of its Napa Valley Cabernet.
Caymus describes Special Selection as a wine of structure, distinguished by extremely fine, velvety tannins and an intense concentration of supple flavors and dark fruits. The winery notes that it can be enjoyed upon release or with aging.
