Caymus-Suisun Grand Durif Petite Sirah
Caymus-Suisun Grand Durif Petite Sirah is a Suisun Valley Petite Sirah from Caymus-Suisun, the Suisun Valley label of the Wagner family of Caymus Vineyards. Durif is another name for Petite Sirah, the widely grown grape of the region, and the Wagners added "Grand" for the wine's style. Suisun Valley became an AVA in 1982 and is separated from Napa by a county line.
The winery describes the wine as opulent, luxuriously soft and totally enjoyable, with harmonious tannins. The Wagners compare Suisun Valley, with its warm days and cool nights, to Napa Valley in the 1960s.
