Don Julio Añejo Tequila
Don Julio Añejo Tequila is aged 18 months or more in ex-bourbon American white oak casks. Made from 100% Blue Weber agave in the Los Altos highlands of Jalisco, it is bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof).
The house traces its story to 1942, when Don Julio González founded his distillery at the age of 17. Lime, grapefruit and mandarin brighten the nose alongside caramel. Cooked agave, wild honey, butterscotch and oak shape the palate, and the finish is bright and lightly spiced, returning to wild honey.
At Sun of a Gun Cigars & Spirits in Yuma, Arizona, we pour it by the glass as a single or a double, with bottles to go (750 mL). Our shelf changes as bottles are poured and new ones arrive, so call 928-276-3500 to confirm availability, and ask our team for a cigar from the walk-in humidor to pair with it.
