Empress 1908 Elderflower Rose Gin

Empress 1908 Elderflower Rose Gin is made by Victoria Distillers in Sidney, British Columbia, and bottled at 42.5% ABV (85 proof). It is handcrafted in copper pot stills from a corn-based spirit and is certified gluten-free and kosher.

Nine botanicals shape the recipe; those the producer names include juniper, red rose petals, elderflower, lavender, orange peel and black carrot. The ruby color comes naturally from the rose petals and black carrot, with no artificial coloring, and it fades over time in sunlight.

A bright floral bouquet of orange peel, cinnamon, pine and rose leads into an understated palate of florals, citrus, spice, lavender and a hint of sweetness. Elderflower lingers through the long finish.
