Gracias a Dios Mezcal Arroqueño
Gracias a Dios Mezcal Arroqueño is a joven mezcal of arroqueño (Agave americana), made by fourth-generation maestro mezcalero Oscar Hernández of Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca, with agave from the San Pedro Mixtepec region. It is bottled at 45% ABV (90 proof).
The importer names it an Arroqueño Wild Agave Mezcal. Arroqueño takes about 15 years to mature; the hearts are cooked in an underground pit oven, milled by tahona, fermented in pine-wood tubs and distilled twice in copper.
At Sun of a Gun Cigars & Spirits in Yuma, Arizona, we pour it by the glass as a single or a double, with bottles to go (750 mL). Our shelf changes as bottles are poured and new ones arrive, so call 928-276-3500 to confirm availability, and ask our team for a cigar from the walk-in humidor to pair with it.
