Hess Maverick Ranches Cabernet Sauvignon is a Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon from Hess Persson Estates, the Napa Valley winery founded by Donald Hess. It is the winery's first Paso Robles Cabernet and is named for its founder's maverick spirit. The 2023 release blends Cabernet Sauvignon with Petite Sirah and was aged 12 months in 50 percent new French oak.

For the 2023 vintage, the winery describes aromas of black plum and currant with blackberry, cardamom, vanilla and cinnamon toast. Fine-grained tannins support black cherry, raspberry and mulberry, and the velvety finish shows chocolate-covered cherry, dried herbs and toasted oak.
