Jefferson's Ocean Bourbon is a very small batch Kentucky bourbon from Jefferson's, blended by Master Blender Trey Zoeller and aged in barrels carried aboard ocean-going ships. It is bottled at 45% ABV (90 proof).

The idea took shape in 2008, when Zoeller was aboard a ship off the coast of Costa Rica. Each voyage averages more than 25 ports, five continents and two equator crossings. According to Jefferson's, the motion of the ship increases contact between whiskey and oak, while equatorial humidity caramelizes the bourbon. Fresh ginger, butterscotch and salt spray lead the nose; salted caramel, chocolate and tropical fruit fill the palate, and the finish is delicate, touched with sea salt.
