Lagavulin 2022 Distillers Edition Scotch Whisky

Lagavulin 2022 Distillers Edition Scotch Whisky is the 2022 edition of Lagavulin's annual limited Distillers Edition, a double-matured Islay single malt with no age statement. After time in refill American and European oak, it takes a second maturation in re-charred American oak seasoned with Pedro Ximenez sherry, fitted with heavily re-charred new American oak ends. It is bottled at 43% ABV (86 proof).

Lagavulin has made whisky on Islay since 1816. Dark oak and liquor-soaked raisins lead the nose over a sweet wine-cask note; the palate is oily, sweet and spiced, with fruit and a raisined smokiness. The finish runs very long, darkly smoky and warm with oak spice.
