Mortlach Special Release Midnight Dusk Scotch Whisky

Mortlach Special Release Midnight Dusk Scotch Whisky comes from the Speyside distillery known as "The Beast of Dufftown" and belongs to Diageo's Special Release 2024. The single malt, which carries no age statement, matures in refill and ex-bourbon American oak before a finish in Italian casks that held Ramandolo white wine and Sangiovese red wine. It is bottled at natural cask strength, 57.5% ABV (115 proof).

The nose is mild, gentle and dry, with a deeply exotic edge. On the palate it is smooth and creamy, lightly sweet and fruity before spice and pepper build. The finish is medium-long and dry, with warm spice, fruity acidity and white pepper.
