My Father El Centurion Toro Grande is the return of a 2007 limited edition, brought back as a regular line for Pepín García's tenth anniversary of rolling in the United States. A Nicaraguan sun-grown Criollo 98 wrapper covers a Nicaraguan binder and fillers of Criollo, Corojo Habano and the rare Sancti Spiritus leaf. At 6 1/2 inches by 58 it is three-quarter to full-bodied, with leather and coffee and a real kick.
El Centurion suits the Sun of a Gun guest who wants strength with some old-school character. From the bar it pairs with a bourbon, a dark rum or an Islay Scotch, and with a strong coffee. Offered by the single, the five-pack or the box of 20.
