Oban 14 Year Scotch Whisky

Oban 14 Year Scotch Whisky is a Highland single malt from the West Highland coast, made at a distillery founded in 1794. It spends 14 years in American oak ex-bourbon casks and is bottled at 43% ABV (86 proof).

Oban works with tiny lamp-glass-shaped copper pot stills, among the smallest in Scotland, and condenses its spirit in wooden worm tubs that stand outdoors among the rooftops, open to the sea air. The nose is oily and waxy, with nuts, ripe orchard fruit, brine and a trace of smoke. A dense, spiced palate carries sweetness, menthol freshness, orange zest, clove and green apple, and the long finish turns from syrupy to dry, with dark chocolate.
