Old Forester 1920 Bourbon

Old Forester 1920 Bourbon is a Prohibition Style bourbon whisky from Old Forester Distilling Company in Louisville, Kentucky, bottled at 115 proof (57.5% ABV) as part of the Whiskey Row Series launched in 2014.

It recalls the Prohibition years, when Old Forester was produced as medicinal whiskey under permit on Louisville's Whiskey Row, and the company notes that the brand was sold continuously before, during and after that era. Cherry preserves, caramel and dark chocolate greet the nose alongside maple syrup and candied spiced nuts. The palate is dense with dark caramel, malt nuttiness, chocolate and nougat, edged with rye spice and cedar, and the long finish brings toasted coconut, dark chocolate, charred marshmallow and oak spice.
