Penelope Toasted Rye Whiskey is a straight rye from Penelope Bourbon's Toasted Series, offered as a special annual release and bottled at 100 proof. The mash bill is 95% rye and 5% malted barley, and the age varies from one annual release to the next.

After full maturation in charred new American oak, the whiskey is finished in a new Char 2, Heavy Toast barrel. Caramel, cocoa, roasted nuts and vanilla form the nose, the palate brings vanilla, toffee, leather and light fruit, and the finish carries toasted oak, brown sugar and lingering spice.
