Uncle Nearest 1856 American Whiskey

Uncle Nearest 1856 American Whiskey was the brand's first whiskey, launched in the United States in 2017, and is bottled at 100 proof. It honors Nearest Green, whom the brand calls the first known African American master distiller.

The current legacy-era bottling contains whiskey from the brand's own barrels. Maple, vanilla and cherry lead a layered nose, with black pepper, almond cookie, dried straw and coconut behind them. The palate turns to spice, caramel, brown sugar, marzipan, chocolate cherry and crème brûlée, before a long, rich finish of spiced honey.
