Escurio is the Brazil-inspired Black Band line Davidoff launched in 2015: a dark Ecuador Habano wrapper, a Brazilian Cubra binder and filler of Brazilian Cubra and Mata Fina with Dominican tobaccos, made by Cigars Davidoff in Santiago, Dominican Republic (Cigar Aficionado). Cigar Coop says the name joins escuro, Portuguese for dark, with Rio, for Rio de Janeiro, and Davidoff calls the blend "medium-intense." The Corona Gorda is longer and slimmer than the Robusto, and Davidoff times it at 35 to 50 minutes.
