Don Pepin Garcia Vegas Cubanas Toro Gordo is the 6 inch by 60 expression of a blend Pepín García first rolled in the early 2000s and reintroduced in 2017 from the family's Estelí factory. A classic Corojo rosado wrapper covers Nicaraguan binder and Estelí and Jalapa fillers grown on García land. The maker calls it full-bodied; the profile runs to cedar, white pepper, cabinet spices and sweet wafer.
The Toro Gordo gives the Vegas Cubanas blend a cool, generous draw for a long lounge sitting. From the Sun of a Gun bar it pairs with a rye, a bourbon or a Speyside Scotch, or with a strong coffee. Offered by the single, the five-pack or the box of 20.
